Who are we and what do we do?

Introduction :: News & Downloads

Assist a Child to School (ACTS) is a registered charity that has been operating in the schools of a slum area named Kongowea in the suburbs of Mombasa for over 13 years.

Originally the charity focused on gaining individual sponsorship for primary pupils but it has grown considerably over the last few years.

We now support secondary and third level pupils through their education as well as running a Schools Support Program which aims to set up libraries, provide desks, text books, and other valuable resources for local schools.

OUR PLEDGE

ACTS pledges it’s support in assisting those children whose families are unable to grant them this basic right; by finding sponsors to fund the school fees and donors to help raise money for equipment and facilities.

ACTS is involved in the local community in many ways.

Local children help each other through our ‘Schools helping Schools’ program.

" At school, every day. "

We receive valuable donations and support from organisations and individuals from many countries around the world and many of our students go on to achieve more than they ever thought possible.
